With a career primarily focused on Oncology and Hospice, Lisa has extensive experience in bedside nursing, chemotherapy and assisting with bone marrow transplants, among other areas. She has held various roles, including Case Manager, QA Nurse, Educator, and Team Manager. Fifteen years ago, Lisa pursued a graduate degree in Nursing Education, which enabled her to teach Med-Surg and ICU clinical rotations at various colleges and universities throughout California. “I love to teach and feel that education is not proprietary but should be a constant in anyone’s career, as there is always something new to learn. Education is empowering!” shares Lisa.
The last ten years of Lisa’s nursing career led her to own a private practice in Aesthetics in both California and Bellingham. Today, she looks forward to her role as Director of Health Services, where she has the opportunity to touch more lives. “I came to Silverado with a desire to do ‘more’ in my career. Teaching is my passion, and I hope to teach, mentor and lead the very fine associates I’ve had the pleasure of meeting,” shares Lisa.
In her free time, Lisa can be found gardening, sewing or on stage, actively participating in community theater throughout Whatcom and Skagit counties. She and her husband of 45 years have two beautiful daughters who have further blessed them with three wonderful grandchildren. They also have two Dachshunds and two Bengal cats.
