Dr. Chien graduated from National Taiwan University College of Medicine in 1991. He had an internal medicine residency followed by geriatric medicine training at St Louis University. He was adjunct assistant professor at St Louis University before moving on to teach geriatric medicine at Huntington Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Chien has practiced medicine since 1998, when he moved to California. He was additionally certified in Holistic Medicine by the Academy of Integrative Medicine in 2014. He is the inventor of the Sano Curatio stethoscope sanitation barrier. He is particularly skilled in understanding polypharmacy and the adverse effects of modern pharmaceuticals. Additionally, he studies and utilizes pulse electromagnetic field for its health benefits.
Dr. Chien believes in a whole person approach to health and focuses on incorporating these healthy habits into his own lifestyle. He emphasizes spirituality and innovation in his approach to care and life. His hobbies are hiking, skiing, and living a productive and meaningful life.
