Resident Bruce Gelker has led a rich and storied life. He was a member of the Rose Bowl-winning 1944 USC football team, where the Trojans beat undefeated Washington 17-0. He later served in the Marine Corps in both World War II and Korea, then as the Athletic Officer for the entire Pacific region.
Recently, Bruce celebrated his 100th birthday, and he enjoyed a truly special day with his family. The day was capped off with an incredible honor as he stood on the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum field during a USC football game and was presented with the USC Medal of Courage!
