For several weeks now, ever since the danger of the Covid-19 outbreak became real, Silverado communities have been in a virtual lockdown to keep residents safe. This means that aside from essential personnel, visitors are not allowed inside the communities. While millions of others are under directives to stay at home to help “flatten the curve” of this terrible virus, the effects of isolation can be especially challenging for individuals living with memory impairments.
A loved one’s smile or voice can be the most precious thing to someone living with Alzheimer’s or other type of dementia, so our community teams are pulling out all the stops to connect residents with their loved ones who can’t be there in person. Here are a few highlights:
