    Verified U.S. News family reviews

Every year Silverado families are surveyed by U.S. News & World Report about their experience with us. Here are just a few comments shared by verified Silverado Alexandria family members when surveyed:

“The transition to Silverado was challenging and emotional. My loved one was angry and resentful. My loved one was sometimes difficult to manage. The staff at Silverado was always reassuring, and never seemed phased by my loved one’s, emotional swings and dissatisfaction for being in memory care. Fast forward two years and my loved one is so adjusted and feels so loved, because of the constant care and determination of the staff to make my loved ones feel adjusted. I also feel loved as a community member. There is a really incredible sense of community amongst the families, and that is, in part, fostered by Silverado – with great intentionality. The family dinners, the community gatherings, and the opportunities for us to interact with one another is tremendously supporting. I am very grateful for people who dedicate their lives to serving those with cognitive issues. It is a great tragedy in our society, and I am deeply grateful for those who help fill this void. Thank you for all that you do!”

“It is a difficult decision to place a family member / loved one in memory care. We do not regret our decision having done so and believe if we did not make this choice, he would no longer be with us. Or we would not have survived. It can not be done alone. It takes a team to care for someone with memory loss !”

“Silverado has been a lifesaver for our family. My mom is safe in a community that is uniquely well-suited to care for her. She has made new friends with fellow residents and staff alike.”

    Why choose Silverado?

    Open/close panel
    Open/close panel

Many families shared the peace of mind they experienced when they finally chose Silverado after wrestling with feelings of guilt that comes from deciding to reach out for help. Even a family working together cannot replicate what an expert team of professionals who do this for a living and get to go home at night and rest can provide. Even superhuman strength eventually gives out. Once families make a move to Silverado and see that their loved one is better off and they can sleep again, the common refrain is, “I should have moved my loved one in earlier.” They are relieved to be the daughter, son, husband, or wife again and not the caregiver.

We want to reassure you that we understand that no one knows your loved one more than you do. We are the experts in what we do, having led the way in memory care for over 20 years. Families have shared they recognized that a delay in placement is a delay in care in treating this illness, and we know that a delay can result in a dangerous crisis for the exhausted caregiver or your loved one. Do not wait for an emergency. We invite you to give us a call at (703) 215-9110 and schedule a time to visit Silverado Alexandria.

In fact, we’re so confident that Silverado is the best choice to provide for your loved one’s needs we offer a satisfaction pledge unequaled in memory care.

We look forward to meeting you soon.
