Our residents’, families’, and associates’ wellbeing have always been the primary focus of everything we do. When the question arose about whether to mandate COVID-19 vaccinations within our communities, we thoroughly studied the issue. We concluded it was the best way to protect and care for those entrusted to us and our associates who care for them.
On March 1, 2021, Silverado was the first major care provider to mandate vaccines. Due to the rules established, we quickly exceeded a vaccination rate of 97% in our memory care communities among our staff and our residents.
Recently, the Washington Post published a feature on the question of mandatory vaccinations that so many care providers are facing. Silverado’s leadership was interviewed for having the courage to require vaccinations, setting the bar for our industry. We invite you to read the feature for insight into this decision.
