Clinical excellence is a cornerstone of Silverado’s care, so even before the first COVID-19 vaccine was approved we had already established the goal of vaccinating as many people within our communities as possible. Though experts are still calculating the exact percentage of vaccinated individuals within a population required to achieve herd immunity, most reliable projections place it at 70%-90%.
We are pleased to announce that all Silverado Communities have reached a vaccination rate of 97% among our residents and community associates companywide.
Thanks to a focused effort by our community teams, clinical leadership and healthcare partners, we are proud to have reached such a high percentage of vaccinations. The wellbeing of our residents has always been the primary focus of everything we do, and to reach this achievement in a year when we’ve faced so many challenges is truly a testament to our longstanding commitment to world-class clinical practices and protocols.
The rollout of effective COVID-19 vaccines is a boon to families who noticed signs of memory impairment in their loved ones while on lockdown, creating a level of confidence that they can place them in a memory care community that has been vaccinated.
As move forward through the COVID-19 pandemic, Silverado will continue to hold fast to our industry-leading infection control practices and dedication to doing what is best for our residents, families and associates. We look forward to a day when we are able to welcome family members into our communities once again and truly share every precious moment with their loved ones.
